Accomplices Needed

This event will continue where the event ‘Unist’ot’en: they opened the gate, so what?’ left off.

While the first event provided updates and built connections, ‘Accomplices Needed’ will push dialogue even further. We’ll tackle some of the broader questions that came up during initial discussions and (hopefully) inspire attendees to dream, build & take autonomous action themselves!

What can land defense solidarity actions look like? What should we consider when planning them? How can we connect distant struggles to what’s happening here and now? What even IS happening here?? And, of course: When the project you oppose is backed and enforced by the state, how do you resist something so ambiguous?

Join us for the evening as we take a closer look at a number of Unist’ot’en solidarity events from throughout Turtle Island and identify key considerations to undertaking them – within any struggle. Discuss the importance of and differences between seizing moments and building movements – and why we need to build autonomous actions that demand nothing of the state and everything of ourselves.
