Due to noblogs no longer being available due to targeting by the US state, North Shore is hosting pages for some local anarchist projects that have lost their platforms.

Hamilton Anarchist Bookfair 2026
The 2026 Hamilton Anarchist Bookfair will take place on Saturday October 3rd from 10am-5pm at the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, 51 Stuart St.
Anarchists, anti-authoritarians and those curious about anarchy are invited for a day of workshops, discussions, and tables featuring zines, art, books, and info on local projects. We hope this will be a day to share knowledge in the spirit of spreading practices of autonomy, direct action, and solidarity. We also hope it will be a day to make connections and strengthen our networks, with the goal of building strong resistance movements in this region and beyond.
Admission is free, food is provided, and childcare and kids activities will be available all day. Make a weekend of it with our outdoor social in conjunction with Hamilton Running Down the Walls the following day.
Table and workshop applications are now closed. All applicants will be contacted soon.
The Space
The 2026 Bookfair will be hosted at the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre (WAHC) in downtown Hamilton. Tables, food, and childcare will be found on the first floor of the building. Workshops will take place on the first and second floor.
The venue includes a large, tree-filled courtyard, which we plan to use for a food-serving and chill out area. Bathrooms are located in the basement. The building is wheelchair-accessible, with a ramp to the front door and elevators for navigating between floors.
More information about venue accessibility can be found here: https://wahc-museum.ca/accessibility/
Thank you to WAHC for having us! To learn more about the space, visit https://wahc-museum.ca/
Getting there:
The closest bus routes to WAHC are the A-line express (route 20) and the Burlington St bus (route 4).
There is free parking on Stuart Street, as well as at the nearby West Harbour GO station.
WAHC is less than a 5-minute walk from the West Harbour GO station. Just take the McNab exit from the station and head south down McNab to Stuart Street.

Volunteer
Every year, the Hamilton Anarchist Bookfair brings together hundreds of people from southern Ontario and beyond to share ideas and build connections, and we’d love your help in pulling it off!
There are a variety of ways to get involved, both in the lead-up to and day of the event.
Volunteer Information Night
On Tuesday, July 21, we’ll be hosting a volunteer information night at Black Oak Social Space, 492 James St N from 7:00-8:30PM. This is a low-pressure event to hear more about the bookfair and ways to help out. There will be a short presentation followed by a chance to chat with folks involved in the bookfair.
You’re not obligated to take on any roles by attending the event, and you also don’t need to attend the event to help out!
If you can’t make the volunteer information night but would like to help out, please fill out this form and we will get in touch soon.
Help Spread the Word!
