London Police: Overreach, Misogyny & Investigative Tactics

Anonymous Submission to North Shore I was recently speaking with a comrade who is one of the individuals wrapped up on charges in London, Ontario. They’re alleged to have played a role in shutting down a weapons defense conference that involved private and state actors, and a number of manufacturing companies designing or building the tech currently being used by Israel against Palestinians and those in Lebanon – but also Read More …

A Good Offense: A Few Thoughts on Recent House Raids Across Ontario

On Tuesday November 25, 2025 the London Police Services – in conjunction with several other police services – carried out four simultaneous pre-dawn raids on individuals throughout Ontario that they allege to have been part of resistance to “The Best Defense Conference” held in London, Ontario on October 21, 2025. The conference attracted participants and attendees from the canadian forces, arms manufacturers, and defense contractors – all of whom spent considerable time in the rain and hotel lobby when over 100 people took to shutting down the conference. Reports from the day outline that people successfully used a variety of tactics to disrupt – from blocking areas with their bodies and the creative use of paint to physically securing entrances with u-locks, destroying card readers, building barricades, and drilling sliding doors closed.

As of this writing, a total of six individuals have now been arrested and charged in relation to this disruption, some with their electronics and other items seized. London Police Detectives continue to try and harass or intimidate others into providing information with repeated calls and door knocks, inviting individuals to come in for an interview to “distance themselves from any criminal acts”. Hamilton: 80 cars sabotaged at Tesla dealership

What follows is copied from a CBC News article and deals with events of interest to anarchists. It was published on March 20, 2025. It primarily describes the large-scale attack in Hamilton but also talks about incidents in London and Montreal.

80 Teslas damaged at Hamilton dealership, largest car vandalism reported in Canada against the U.S. company

Dozens of vehicles have been damaged at a Tesla dealership on the Hamilton Mountain, police in the Ontario city said.

It’s believed to be the largest vandalism in Canada against vehicles from the U.S.-based car company. Read More …

London: Where have all the anarchists gone?

I just moved to London recently, I was excited to see if any anarchists were still active in this unapologetically beautiful, working-class city. Yet the first thing I see when I come is barely any anarchists (which is kind of what I was hoping for).

I was looking forward to getting away from Ottawa because of the obnoxious (and frankly exaggerated) politics of Ottawa, the YCL stood for compliance and the Punch Up Collective was too cagey to join with. Yet, for some reason, I’m determined to find any fellow anarchists within the bricked and woodland areas of the Forest City (at least it’s called that for now, I hope there will be trees left in the future). Attack Scotiabank

In London Ontario we attacked and will continue to attack Scotiabank, because of their role as a major investor in the Israel’s largest arms manufacturer, Elbit.

We believe that as long as the genocide in Palestine continues, not a single Scotiabank should see peace in this city and there will be no business as usual in our community.

May the flame that burns inside us, burn everything around us Read More …

Canadian Tire Fire #6: Far Right Losses, Neglect in Prison, and a Summer of Encampment Evictions

Yet more unmarked residential school graves were discovered this week, this time near the Kuper Island Industrial School on Penelakut Island in so-called BC. As communities across Turtle Island process the renewed grief and anger at the loss of their loved ones, recent weeks also saw backlash against the mourning. In Brantford, ON, a memorial to Indigenous children at the site of a former residential school was burned last week, seemingly by a lone vandal. Last month, a teepee for Indigenous high school students in Grande Prairie, AB, decorated to commemorate victims of residential schools, was also vandalized. Both instances are stark reminders of the racism embedded in Canadian culture – as communities mourn the harm done by the Canadian state, this will inevitably be viewed as a threat by those who take pride in their genocidal nation. Drop the Charges! Free Cedar! Day of Action Report Back

On Friday, June 28th, We called for a Day of Autonomous Action to drop all the charges against pride defenders and to free Cedar immediately. This Day of Action comes on the heels of repeated harassment of queers by the police, city Councillors, mayor Fred Eisenberger and the far-right since the fall out of the Hamilton Pride festival.

June 28th was also the 50th anniversary of The Stonewall riot in NYC which catalyzed the modern Queer and Trans Liberation movements and what we’ve come to know as Pride. Getting back to our roots, this Day of Action wasn’t a music festival, there was no banks invited, no personalities, no celebrities, no boards, no cops, no CEO’s. Our Day of Action was one of people coming together and rejecting piecemeal offerings of tolerance and demanding liberation. This is our Stonewall. This is our Bathhouse Riot.

There was over 47 actions around the world responded to our call, with graffiti, postering, stickers, marches, rallies, demonstrations, phone zaps, messages of solidarity and fundraisers. It has brought us to tears time and again seeing the love people have to give, and encourages our call to drop the charges and free Cedar. Read More …

London: On closing Empowerment Infoshop

We are sad and relieved to announce that we have closed Empowerment Infoshop.

To stay at the Baker’s Dozen would be to compromise our morality as anarchists. We left Baker’s Dozen on April 1st, 2019. We are still waiting to receive back a $600 rent deposit. We will not be hosting the book fair in June. It felt defeating to close our doors, but for a variety of reasons we have made that choice. There is no planned future for Empowerment Infoshop. London: Anti-Fascist Mobilization Opposes Pegida, Soldiers of Odin, and Wolves of Odin

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, a rally of several Pegida members along with a dozen or so SOO and a few Wolves of Odin and other neo-fascist supporters was confronted by a much larger counter-mobilization of antifascists. With cops present the fascists held their ground outside the City Hall building. Read More …
