Late in the night on January 1st and early in the morning on January 2nd, three pieces of heavy logging equipment (two grapple yarders and a log loader) belonging to Fraser Valley Timber were destroyed. The damage is estimated by media to be over $500,000. The machines themselves are worth millions.

The machines were located along Caycuse Main which is an FSR near Lake Cowichan. This area has been the site of years of old growth logging and resistance efforts to stop it. Last year there were reports from the provincial government of tree spiking in the area.
