Letter from Cedar on Conspiracy Charges, the Barton Jail, and Solidarity

From Hamilton Anarchist Support Version française : Lettre de Cedar sur les accusations de complot, la prison Barton et la solidarité I’ve been out of jail about two weeks now, enough time to get set back up with a computer to replace the one stolen by the police and to begin sorting out what reflections I’d like to share more widely. Better Without Them: Open Letter to Hamilton Pride and to Try Hamilton Performers

Submitted anonymously to North Shore         Advertising and sponsorship are everywhere and as we enter festival season, no one will be surprised that each one comes with its own sponsor’s logo all over it. It can almost just become invisible, our eyes slipping past it to see when the bands are playing or when food is served. Sometimes however, that sponsorship is more than just simple advertising. Sometimes the presence Read More …

Solidarity with Cedar Hopperton from J20 Defendants and Supporters

From Defend J20 Resistance Cedar Hopperton is an anarchist living on occupied Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe land in so-called Hamilton, Ontario. In March, there was a small disruptive anti-capitalist march in a gentrifying neighborhood the weekend of the Hamiliton anarchist bookfair. Afterwards, far right and white nationalist groups began attacking Hamilton’s anarchist community space, who took the opportunity to advance their own agenda. The police responded by targeting Cedar, raiding Read More …

Kingston: Graffiti for Cedar

Anonymous submission to Northshore Counter-Info Last night we left graffiti reading FREE CED(A)R on Montreal Street in Kingston. It felt appropriate to make use of the steel shutters of the Elm Cafe to share our message. The shutters were installed last year following repeated unclaimed vandalism against the gentrifying business, provoking outrage among local yuppies as well as certain ‘progressives’ who rush to defend the sanctity of small business. We Read More …
