Fuck the Police for Ever: Arrested for Lawn Signs

Anonymous Submission to North Shore Counter-Info Let me tell you a funny story. On Friday June 28, 2019 in the early afternoon I was getting excited for a queer dance party that would soon take over the streets of Hamilton; one more action showcasing queer resilience and resistance here in Hamilton, despite police repression.  I was telling my friend about is as we drove across town, not even a little Read More …

Hamilton Police PR Stunt met with Counter-Demo

Police are doing “Coffee With a Cop” events across the region, including in Chatham-Kent on May 22 or Windsor on May 30. They’ve been happening in Toronto and Niagara too. Holding a “Coffee Without Cops” event outside is an easy way to spoil their party and make space to critique the role police play in society as well as specific abuses.

Perhaps the easiest question ever asked: “Would you like your coffee with or without cops?” “Coffee with a Cop,” a public relations event by Hamilton Police, found itself competing for attention with “Coffee without Cops.” Read More …

Not Our Friends: The Ottawa Police’s Long History of Violence and Racism

In this article, we take a careful look at the Ottawa Police Service (OPS). RCMP FUCK OFF: Hamilton in Solidarity with Wet’suwet’en

Late last night as many had their eyes glued to screens cheering on the Patriots in the Superbowl, a small crew of pals got busy taking on one symbol of so-called Canada’s nationalism: the RCMP. Against Patriarchy, the Police, and any World That Needs Them

On October 20th, 2018 around 1am, cops showed up to a call at an apartment above a King St. Shop in Hamilton, Ontario. Inside they found Robyn Garlow, 30yo mother of one, with a knife. They electrocuted her with a taser and, as she was falling to the ground, shot her four fucking times.

Garlow was known to the police. She was a drug user and was recently out of jail. These details have no relevancy to her worth, her inherent right to freedom from state oppression. Yet, they already have been and will be used to justify her murder. Because the police are a violent organization meant to protect property of the rich, they have no humanity for the poor and the working class. Because the police are a patriarchal organization meant to enforce laws that privilege masculinity, they have no room for women who do not submit to their authority. Read More …

On “Hate”, the Hamilton Police, and Mexican Food

Anonymous Submission to North Shore Counter-Info After a tense week-long standoff between city bureaucrats, local journalists, and police, it seems anarchism has finally been cleared of being a hate crime in the city of Hamilton.
